The Sur del Lago de Maracaibo region in Venezuela
Story
Sur del Lago is translated as “south of the lake” and refers to the territory located south of the Maracaibo basin, which spans municipalities from the states of Zulia and Mérida.
The beans are collected, processed, and exported by Chocacao. Led by grower and businessman Armando Parra, the company provides support to the farmers they work with by providing new planting materials, trainings and rehabilitating their plantations. By improving their production, these farmers get better prices for their cacao and can now access new markets.
